What is ECFE?

Dassel-Cokato Early Childhood Family Education (ECFE) is where you and yoru child will grow and learn together while exploring new experiences and meeting other families. ECFE serves all families with children ages birth through 5 (not yet in kindergarten).

At ECFE we understand the importance of the early years in a child's development. Right from birth you shape your child's development and set the stage for future learning and growth. This is why we offer a variety of classes that provide information, encouragement and support for you and your child.

All ECFE classes are led by experienced, licensed teachers who help children discover and learn through activities and play, using art, science, movement, games, and stories. Our teachers create a learning environment where children thrive and parents receive information, friendship, and support.

Early Childhood Family Education Goals:

* To support families in their child raising efforts
* To offer information about child development and parenting techniques
* To give children opportunities to discover and learn with their parents
* To provide information on community resources

Kinds of ECFE Classes

1. Non-Separating Classes: Parents and children remain in the Early Childhood classroom the entire class time. Classes include: Babies, Ten Parent & Young Child, Toddlers, and Little Chargers.
2. Separating Classes: During Parent Discussion parents move to a nearby room while the children remain with the early childhood teacher and paraprofessional in the classroom. Classes include: D-C Kids and Night Owls.
